Carpet Installation

Carpet Installation

A proper and professional carpet installation is vital to the life and performance of your carpet. Our expert team at Naffco flooring and interiors will ensure it gets done properly and that you get the most use of your new carpet.

Carpet installation is often a lengthy and vigorous process so knowing what to expect and how to prepare yourself can help make the process go faster and smoother and also eliminate any surprises.

Before Installation

The first step for carpet Installation is getting accurate measurements of the space to determine how much material is required. Our team will visit your home to take the measurements and discuss the process with you, including the layout and removal of any existing flooring.

If you’re remodeling other parts of your house, we advise that they should be completed before the installation is scheduled. We also advise that before the installers arrive on the scheduled day, the whole area where the carpet will be installed should be cleared out. The emptier the room the easier and faster the installation process. Clearing the room also protects your furniture and appliances from damage and dirt.

Carpet installation often takes between 1-2 days depending on the size of your room, however, we might ask you to refrain from using the space for a short amount of time, so it is advised that you plan accordingly.

During Installation

Once all due processes have been followed and all concerns attended to, our installer will begin the installation process. You don’t have to worry about the old carpets if you have one. If you have one, it will be ripped out then the installers will start preparing the floor for the new carpet to be installed. The work begins with the installer attaching the underpadding and then the carpet will be laid out.

Please note that during the installation, we will require you and any other member of the home to vacate the room. This is done to ensure safety and to enable our team to carry out their work effectively. Installation time may vary according to the size of the space. The installers will remain communicative with you all through the entire process.

After Installation

The work doesn’t end after the carpet has been fully installed. First, you immediately air the room to get rid of the smell associated with the installation, and you should wait for at least 24 hours before using or putting furniture on the carpet. This is done to avoid permanent indentation and to allow the carpet to stick to the floor properly. Also, vacuuming will remove short fibers from the carpet, so it’s a good idea to vacuum regularly even if the carpet doesn’t look dirty.
